Arusha National Park

The most common animals found in Arusha National Park are blue monkeys and the black and white colobus monkey Vervet monkeys, hippos, sometimes the leopard.

 

The highland montane forest that surrounds Ngurdoto Crater whose steep, rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog. with more than 400 species inside the park including Eurasian migrants between October and April.

Momela Lakes is the perfect way to view plenty of birdlife such as thousands of greater and lesser flamingos while canoeing around.

 

Zebra and Giraffe graze glide across the grassy hills. The National Park is protecting Mt Meru and a trek to the peak (4562m) starting with a hike before entering the montane forest.

 

This is closest National Park to Arusha town situated only 37km from Arusha town.

 

With an area of 137km the park becomes very popular for day trips and valuable addition to a northern safaris and get the opportunity to combine game drives and nature walk with the view of Mt Meru and Mt kilimanjaro in different places inside the park.

 

It is one of the smaller and beautiful National parks in Tanzania.
